Necessary travel documents
  • International passport

To travel to Scotland, you need a valid international passport. It's highly recommended that it is valid for at least 6 months after your return. An ID card is no longer sufficient to enter the UK.

  • ETA UK

The UK has introduced a new rule: the ETA UK (Electronic Travel Authorization). This is a mandatory travel authorization. You can obtain it online before your departure. Without this ETA, you cannot travel to the UK, so this document is very important!

Keep in mind that processing your application may take a few days, so request your authorization as soon as your trip is booked. The cost is £16 (approximately €18.5) per person.

For more information, you can check the official government website.

What should I bring?

We provide all the necessary camping gear for your road trip to go smoothly. Curious to know what you need to bring? We've prepared a packing list that includes everything you'll need for your adventure.

How to get there?

Your journey begins in Edinburgh.

We'll be waiting for you at the airport on the first day between 1 PM and 5 PM to pick up your car. It's best to arrive as early as possible to make the most of your first day of the road trip.

Tip: If your schedule allows, we recommend arriving a day earlier or staying longer in Edinburgh to explore everything the city has to offer.

Flights

We do not offer flights to Edinburgh (EDI).

We recommend Skyscanner or Google Flights to compare flights.

When booking your flights, be sure that your arrival and departure times match those of your stay:

  • Outbound (day 1): arrive before 4 PM to pick up your car at the airport
  • Return (day 8): depart during the day (you will no longer have the car after 10 AM)

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Other means of transport

It's also possible to reach Edinburgh by other means than flying:

By bus:

  • An economical option that directly connects several European cities to Edinburgh.

By train:

  • Not much more expensive.
  • However, be careful: the Edinburgh train station is located in the city center. So, you'll need to arrange additional transport (taxi, bus, or tram) to get to Edinburgh Airport.

Vehicle pickup and return

On day 1, you can pick up the car between 1 PM and 5 PM from our car rental partner at the airport.

On day 8, you need to return the car to the same place by 10 AM at the latest.
