About Travelbase
Travelbase – On a mission to get everyone out there.
We believe that travel should once again be about discovery and gaining new insights. It’s our life’s work to awaken the adventurer in everyone and guide you along the road less traveled. From wild rivers close to home to vast deserts far from civilization, at Travelbase, we make lesser-known destinations accessible to every adventurous soul.
Our mission is to offer as many people as possible an unforgettable travel experience, far away from daily routines and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Since 2010, we’ve been organizing unique adventures that push you beyond your comfort zone, leading you to hidden gems and unpaved paths.
We make it easy for you to experience a one-of-a-kind adventure you’ll be talking about for years to come—without the hassle of planning or the stress of preparation.

Our team creates unexpected adventures for every type of traveler.
The Travelbase team includes over 50 passionate adventurers who work daily to design our one-of-a-kind trips and continuously improve them through the feedback of our travelers.

Our promise to all travelers
How do we make our adventures more sustainable?
We are constantly working to minimize our negative impact while giving back to nature and creating positive change in the destinations we explore.
To support this mission, we created the Butterfly Foundation, a dedicated foundation focused on maximizing the positive impact of Travelbase journeys.
Timeline
Our adventure began in student dorm rooms, where the seeds of Travelbase were first planted.

-
In 2010, Simon and Charles organized a hitchhiking race to Barcelona for Belgian students, which made international headlines. With 300 thumbs in the air and as many backpacks, they launched a bold project with the ultimate prize: a trip around the world.
This was the beginning of dozens of adventure travel concepts. -
Taco and Gido joined the team a few years later after revolutionizing the surf world by building surf villages on the Atlantic coast.
-
By joining forces, they developed more adventures than ever — from hiking the world’s most scenic trails and road tripping through incredible countries to micro-adventures close to home.
