This is the overview of your 11-day road trip through South Africa. Our itinerary takes you to the most beautiful places of the country. The overnight stops are already predetermined, but during the day you can decide which landmarks you wish to visit and how much time you spend there.

You'll be crossing South Africa in a Suzuki Jimny, a spacious 4×4 jeep, capable of handling all road conditions with ease.
The car is automatic and equipped with a roof tent and camping gear. Everything you need for a worry-free trip is included!

During your road trip, you will spend the first night in a hotel in Cape Town. You'll pick up the car so you can explore the city and unwind a bit after your journey. Then, you'll have the chance to spend each night at a beautiful campsite in nature or by the coast along your route, allowing you to fully relax after an eventful day.
All campsites have sanitary facilities. Most campsites also have electricity, and you'll have a power connection in your car for nights without it. We have already reserved a spot for you, so you won’t need to worry about it upon arrival.

Car insurance
Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, which is why we recommend adding a damage waiver to your booking. This insurance costs you €30 per day and covers the vehicle when a member of your team is behind the wheel. By choosing this insurance, you won't have to pay a deposit.
If you haven't taken out damage waiver insurance, you'll need to pay a deposit of €1000, and the maximum deductible in case of damage is €3000.

Your car comes with cooking equipment, which will enable you to cook during the week. If you feel like experimenting with the local ingredients, you can go grocery shopping at several places along the way. The supermarkets we recommend can be found in the app.

Head out to the ocean for an unforgettable whale watching tour! You'll be searching for whales on the open Atlantic Ocean aboard a catamaran. Spot southern right whales (June-November), humpbacks (June-August), and Bryde’s whales (year-round). There's a good chance you'll also encounter dolphins, seals, and seabirds, and if you're lucky, even the African penguin. The tour typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the ocean conditions. Every day is different, but the experience is amazing no matter what!

Sunrise Safari – Addo Elephant NP
Are you an early bird? Then go on a safari at sunrise, when the animals are most active. The guide will tell you all about the animals and knows the best spots to see them in their natural habitat. This tour lasts about 2 hours and starts early in the morning.

Half day Safari – Addo Elephant NP
If you want to go on a longer safari with a guide, opt for a morning safari in an open vehicle. What you encounter will remain a surprise, but there's a good chance you'll spot elephants. Other animals you might come across in the park include lions, black rhinoceroses, Cape buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, kudus, and red hartebeests.
With the sunrise safari and the morning safari, you have the option to explore the park on your own with your jeep in the afternoon.

Full day Safari – Addo Elephant NP + Schotia Reserve
Do you really want to get the most out of your safari? Then book a safari to both Addo Elephant NP and the Schotia Private Reserve. In this reserve, you'll see even more different animals like hippos, giraffes, rhinos, and crocodiles. Schotia aims to provide a natural, ethical living environment for the animals. It was the first reserve in the area with free-roaming lions that hunt naturally instead of being fed. You'll spend the whole day on an unforgettable safari.

Have you always wanted to take a surf lesson? You can do it in Jeffreys Bay, one of the best surf spots in the world. The town is filled with surf culture, featuring annual surf competitions like the World Surf League and a laid-back lifestyle centered around the ocean. Surf shops, local surf spots, trendy cafes, and a close-knit surfing community make it a unique and relaxed surfer's paradise. The lesson lasts 2 hours and is suitable for all levels.

Discover Tsitsikamma from the water! Paddle along with a guide over the Storms River, passing under the suspension bridge and deeper into the untouched nature. Further along the river, you'll swap your kayak for a lilo, an inflatable boat. The guide will share all sorts of fascinating information about the unique nature and wildlife in the area. When the sea is too rough, you'll walk the first part of the tour, a trail with stunning views. The tour lasts 2.5 hours and is easy to do. An unforgettable experience!

We expect you in Cape Town on the first day of your road trip in the afternoon.
Example: you book a road trip for the spring from April 13 to April 23. Then you fly to South Africa on April 12 and are back home on April 24.
Of course, you can also choose to fly to South Africa a bit earlier or return home a bit later on your own initiative, but you'll need to arrange your own transportation and accommodations for the time before or after your road trip.

On day 1, you can pick up the car between 1 PM and 4 PM at our starting point at Cape Town airport. Here, you'll receive detailed instructions about the car, the camping gear, and some basic traffic rules. From here, your road trip can really get started.
