Distance and elevation gain
- The daily distances are easily manageable with a basic level of fitness.
- Expect to climb and descend through the valleys every day.
- Some sections can be a bit tougher with short climbs to viewpoints, but that effort is always rewarded with stunning panoramas.
A few tips
- You set your own pace, so take plenty of breaks when you feel it's needed.
- Book luggage transport if you want to hike lighter.
- Prepare yourself thoroughly with our tailored training schedule.
Weather conditions
- Spring and fall are usually the most pleasant in Cappadocia, with mild temperatures during the day and cooler mornings and evenings.
- On warm days, there is often little shade in the valleys, making the sun feel even stronger.
A few tips
- Leave early and aim to avoid the hottest hours.
- Bring sun protection and wear a cap or hat.
- Carry enough water and plan your breaks wisely, especially on sunny days.
Terrain
- You will mainly walk on dirt, sand, tuff stone, and rocky paths, which are often uneven and sometimes narrow in the valleys.
- The trails often wind through narrow passages between rock formations, with short steep sections going up and down.
- Occasionally, you'll pass natural stairs and uneven rock plateaus, especially towards viewpoints and villages.
A few tips
- Wear A/B hiking shoes with good grip, especially for descents and loose sections.
- Use hiking poles for longer descents and loose ground.
